Como a flor alpina Edelweis, símbolo do amor, fé e esperança, Fausto Marioni sobreviveu durante cinco anos à Segunda Guerra Mundial. Aqui ele nos conta suas memórias e sua força sobrenatural para cumprir a promessa que fez a mãe: não matar ninguém durante o combate

Fausto Marioni, 85 anos, é um herói. Não daqueles com medalhas no peito e honras por matar inimigos. É um soldado da paz que, carregando o peso da promessa que fez à mãe de não matar, passou cinco anos de sua vida na 2ª Guerra Mundial: “Por isto me salvei dos males da guerra”, garante.

Como havia previsto uma cigana no dia em que se alistou, iria sofrer muito, mas sobreviveria. “Ela me disse com lágrimas nos olhos que de todos aqueles jovens que estavam no local, eu seria o único que voltaria para a família”.Fausto não foi para guerra por ideal. Ao contrário, não acreditava no fascismo, embora desde pequeno vivesse sob seus mandamentos.

Nasceu em 2 de maio de 1922, aos pés da cordilheira dos Alpes Cárnicos, norte da Itália, no pequeno paese Forno di Sotto. No majestoso cenário, recebeu da mãe professora instrução e educação religiosa e do pai, combatente da I Guerra, a disciplina e o amor pela Paz . A liberdade aprendeu com a natureza, aventurando-se nas alturas das montanhas rochosas – as Dolomitas.

O regime fascista não permitia que ninguém ficasse parado e aos seis anos, Fausto já freqüentava a colônia marítima, promovida pelo governo, para que meninos de até 12 anos conhecessem a Itália e sua cultura e pudessem aprender outras atividades: “Mussolini já nos preparava para a Guerra”.

O conflito invadiu sua vida em 1941. O jovem, aos 19 anos, que aprendera a amar o próximo foi chamado para matar o inimigo de Hitler e Mussolini: “Tive que deixar minha paz, tranqüilidade e o amor à minha família e aldeia para ir para uma guerra que não era minha”. E ainda com a missão de cumprir a promessa feita a mãe que garantiu que, só desta maneira, a Divina Providência estaria a seu lado.

E lá foi ele para o inferno: “O que vemos pela televisão é turismo perto da realidade de uma guerra”, informa. Passou fome, frio, foi prisioneiro dos alemães, dos russos, viu amigos morrerem, quase foi fuzilado: “Sempre que sentia que ia morrer, aparecia um anjo para me salvar”. Foi assim quando não tinha o que comer e recebeu um pedaço de pão de uma mulher que repentinamente surgiu em sua frente ou quando achou um pedaço de queijo no meio do caminho: “Esfregávamos o pão no queijo para dar gosto”. A farda que Fausto de 1,60m usava era para um soldado de 1,80m. “A roupa larga dava espaço para eu guardar a comida e dividir com minha companhia. Um dia no campo de concentração, sob os olhos de um soldado alemão, vi uma senhora de longe acenando para mim pela janela. Pedi para ir ao banheiro e fui ao seu encontro. Quando cheguei à casa, havia uma mesa imensa repleta de comida e ela me disse: coma à vontade e leve para seus companheiros. Perguntei o porquê daquele banquete e ela disse que gostaria que alguém fizesse a mesma coisa para seu filho que estava na guerra”.

O tempo ia passando e imerso às atrocidades Fausto sobrevivia a guerra cumprindo sua promessa. “Passei um inverno de 41 graus negativos acampado na fronteira com a Albânia, fiz 5 mil quilometros a pé, debaixo de pauladas”. Durante um ano foi prisioneiro dos alemães e condenado a trabalhos forçados. Em dezembro de 1945, foi capturado pelo exército de Stalin. Ele conta uma passagem inexplicável que salvou não só a sua, mas a vida dos companheiros italianos: “Estávamos no cemitério e acabávamos de ver três soldados nazistas serem fuzilados. De repente, senti o oficial cortando as cordas de minhas mãos e dos italianos prisioneiros. Sem entender, perguntei o que havia acontecido e me disseram que da minha boca saíram algumas palavras em russo e foi isto que salvou nossas vidas”. Só um detalhe, Fausto Marioni não sabia falar russo!

Até dezembro de 1946 trabalharam para os russos na Iugoslávia . Fausto, que não sabia que a guerra havia terminado, cozinhava e barbeava os oficiais russos e imaginava como fugir para sua cidade natal. Até que um dia, em visita à cidade de Trieste – cidade próxima à fronteira italiana, armou a fuga. Depois de 4 anos sem dar notícias à família, conseguiu avisar pela rádio do governo em Trieste que estava vivo e que voltaria em breve.

Contou o plano para os 35 soldados que restaram, dos 250 de sua tropa. Chegariam à Trieste pelas montanhas: “Peguei uma arma, muita munição e disse que quem quisesse me acompanhar não poderia ir armado”. Todos concordaram. De barco atravessaram a Baia de Trieste: “Podia avistar de longe as luzes dos carros e caminhões americanos que transitavam na estrada à beira mar”, recorda.

De manhã, o barco encostou na areia da costa italiana, perto da cidade de Monfalcone. E sem parar, todos tomaram o rumo de casa. Pelo caminho os amigos foram se despedindo e Fausto seguiu sozinho até Ampezzo, há 12 km de casa: “Por onde passava via destruição, os soldados nazistas tinham o costume de destruir tudo quando se retiravam”. E foi uma cidade destruída que viu ao chegar em Forni di Sotto. “Não havia ninguém! E resolvi seguir à casa de campo de minha família, chamada Vie di lá, cerca de meia hora de meu paese”. Quando chegou, a mãe o esperava na porta: “Dias depois me cobrou a promessa e respondi que foi muito difícil, mas com a ajuda de Deus consegui cumpri-la”. Para “tirar as casas da guerra do corpo”, ficou durante 8 dias nas montanhas. “Retornei um novo homem e começei a reconstruir com meus irmãos a casa da família”.

Dois anos depois, em 1948, chegou ao Brasil. Casou-se, teve um filho e depois de viúvo foi viver em Águas de Lindóia. Foi lá que conheceu a esposa Melina Lombardi (foto), 30 anos mais jovem que ele que o trouxe para morar na Vila Mariana.

Com ela voltou a Forni di Sotto. Como nos velhos tempos, caminhou entre as dolomitas para buscar à amada a famosa Edelwes – que ilustra a capa de seu livro “A força da sobrevivência”. A flor alpina, só encontrada a partir de 1.900 metros de altitude, é símbolo do amor, esperança e vida e traduz, com a capacidade de sobreviver entre penhascos em baxíssimas temperaduras, a história de nosso herói!
