Tudo começou como um sonho. Talvez uma maluquice. Uns olhavam, ouviam e não comentavam, outros se empolgavam e logo davam ideias. Alguns interrogavam imediatamente: Quê? Dando tom de loucura à pergunta. Ou querendo dizer: “Por acaso você acha que é o Zeca Camargo?” Deixava sem resposta e seguia o planejamento da viagem, focado e sem desistir.
Agora já são mais de 4 meses desde o retorno, 1 ano que embarquei, naquela tarde de sábado, o 31 de maio mais corrido da minha vida. Se somar o planejamento de tudo isso, mais uns 5 meses. Se ainda quiser contar o tempo desde que encafifei com essa idéia de conhecer as maravilhas do mundo… Ah, aí nem sei.
E após os consulados, as companhias aéreas, os postos médicos, as lojas de viagens e as despedidas, eu parti. Parti pro mundo. Uma volta de milhares de quilômetros, de 27 países, de 6 meses e 14 dias, de Maravilhas, de monumentos, de gente, de sorrisos, de cultura, de cheiros, de cores, de alegrias, de lágrimas, de saudade, de encontros, de desencontros, de surpresas, de fotos (muitas), de vídeos, de lembranças, de cartões postais, de internet, de muito trabalho e, mais do que tudo isso, de realização.
Além das maravilhas do mundo, eu andei de elefante, de camelo, abracei tigres, mergulhei, subi ao topo da torre mais alta do planeta, brinquei na neve, quase morri de calor, subi um monte durante a madrugada para ver um pôr-do-sol dos mais lindos da vida, experimentei comidas diferentes, vivi a emoção de uma Olimpíada, chorei as lembranças (mesmo sem ter vivido isso) de uma guerra, conheci a tribo das mulheres pescoçudas e a vida da porção de terra mais isolada do mundo, celebrei uma EuroCopa caminhei, naveguei, voei, viajei sobre trilhos e pilotei. Eu cruzei trópicos, linhas, meridianos, fusos, mares, oceanos e continentes. Eu provei de um pouco do que o mundo pode nos dar, sem ter medo do sabor.
Sou defensor das viagens como a melhor forma de lazer há muito tempo. Mas elas são muito mais do que isso. Pelo menos em mim, provocam os sentidos, são uma terapia, uma constante aula de psicologia, auto-conhecimento, desprendimento material e valor àquilo que, normalmente, não damos tanta atenção. Com uma mochila de 60 litros nas costas, minha principal companheira, não precisava de muito mais. Meus olhos registravam tudo, a câmera fotográfica eternizava um pouco disso. Os momentos de solidão, que não eram poucos, não eram sempre ruins. Eu aprendi a conviver com isso e os usava para me conhecer um pouco mais, pensar, escrever, ter ideias ou viver cada minuto do lugar onde eu estava. Eu vi, percebi e tenho certeza de que sou muito feliz. Hoje, antes de reclamar de qualquer coisa, lembro de tudo que vi, vivi e aprendi e sorrio com o que tenho.
Minha irmã, que acompanhou bem de perto as minhas idas e vindas, principalmente nos últimos meses antes da viagem, me via, diariamente, entrando e saindo de casa, cada dia com um novo visto ou com mais uma vacina tomada. Antes disso tudo, ela já brincava e me chamava de “Cidadão do Mundo”. Eu, por algum motivo, olhava para o mapa-múndi que está na parede do meu quarto e relutava em aceitar o apelido.
Hoje, após olhar para o que fiz em 2008, acho que combino mais com essa seção e posso colocar o ponto final nesse capítulo, que espero que seja apenas mais um dos que ando escrevendo, com minhas pegadas, por aí…
