Navegando pelo Polo Norte
Viajar para o Polo Norte é conhecer o tal do eixo imaginário, fazer um passeio pelo Oceano Glacial Ártico e chegar até onde o tempo para. Depois de me contarem sobre essas e outras belezas, eu e minha esposa resolvemos passar por essa aventura!
Fomos direto de avião para Amsterdã e, já no aeroporto, pegamos uma van que nos levou até Bergen, no litoral, pertinho dali. Ao chegar, tive a impressão de estar em um cartão-postal, com bela paisagem em torno do pequeno porto. Foi dele que partimos em um navio cargueiro rumo ao Polo Norte.O navio é bastante confortável, com capacidade para 700 pessoas, porém nada tem a ver com aqueles cruzeiros que conhecemos: não tem cassinos nem luxo.
A viagem durou aproximadamente 6 dias, e o caminho é de gelo, fiordes à perder de vista, refletindo céu e água. Durante o trajeto, o navio fez algumas paradas para os passageiros descerem, contemplar e interagir com o belíssimo cenário de camadas e mais camadas de gelo. Do navio, é possível avistar algumas habitações, compostas por uma média de cinco ou seis casinhas beirando o mar, e outras poucas, em um ponto mais distante.
Após três dias de viagem, tive a visão do sol da meia-noite! Ele ali, parado, sem se pôr. As horas passando, mas a noite nunca chegava! Uma sensação que vai ficando ainda mais estranha com o passar do dia… Soube que os primeiros povos que habitaram a região ficaram muito cansados, pois, como sempre era dia, eles só trabalhavam e não paravam. Só depois de um tempo foi estabelecido um horário para o descanso.
Nosso navio deu a volta pelo sol da meia-noite e retornou para Bergen. Já de volta à cidade, pude apreciá-la: graciosa e acolhedora, com pessoas belíssimas, muitas lojas e serviços. Minha viagem incluía conhecer alguns países nórdicos e, de Bergen, fomos para Oslo, na Noruega, uma cidade encantadora, muito arrumada e limpa. Para se ter uma ideia, os ônibus circulam vazios e chegam aos seus destinos no horário marcado.
De Oslo, seguimos para Estocolmo, na Suécia, uma cidadesensacional, com pouco mais de 800 mil habitantes. Existe a Estocolmo velha, constituída por uma arquitetura histórica, prédios baixos e padronizados, e a Estocolmo nova, que possui prédios altos e construções modernas e sofisticadas. Eu particularmente prefiro a velha. É muito interessante, porque está situada sobre 14 ilhas na costa sul da Suécia, e existem passeios em que o turista aluga um barco e escolhe o próprio roteiro. Algumas pessoas chamam Estocolmo de “Veneza do Norte”. Os parques e as áreas verdes da cidade são maravilhosos, não é à toa que é uma das cidades mais visitadas na rota dos países nórdicos.
De Estocolmo, seguimos para Bruxelas, na Bélgica, uma das cidades mais lindas que já vi. Inclusive, na oportunidade, soube de uma curiosidade: em Bruxelas os políticos só são remunerados se apresentarem um bom trabalho. Creio que seja por isso que a cidade é tão arborizada, limpa; um local onde crianças, idosos e deficientes físicos e visuais são respeitados e têm seu espaço.
Retornamos à Amsterdã, e pude compreender o que é uma cidade sobre 116 canais agrupados em quarteirões e ligados por mais de 1.200 pontes. Percebi que sua vida noturna é muito agitada, e os passeios são muitos para quem puder ficar mais tempo. É a cidade que abriga os melhores museus da Europa: ao todo são 51, e, ao mesmo tempo, respira modernidade. O meio de locomoção é a bicicleta, adotada pela maioria da população. Descobri, quando voltei, que são 550 mil pelas ruas!
Mas… voltando ao Polo Norte … àqueles que queiram se aventurar nesse navio, recomendo que preparem seus bolsos, pois, apesar de ser compensador, o custo para duas pessoas é de aproximadamente 10 mil reais. E, claro, agasalhem-se mais do que muito bem, pois, embora suportável, o frio é intenso.
Embora a comida e o atendimento sejam excelentes, a base da alimentação é o peixe, delicioso, mas com um tempero muito diferente do brasileiro. Já o tempo de permanência no navio, julgo, é o suficiente para se apreciar a paisagem deslumbrante, que, com o tempo, torna-se repetitiva. Todavia, hoje sinto saudades de uma brisa que só encontrei lá, próximo ao eixo do planeta, em meio ao meio da Terra!
