Desde minha primeira viagem para fora do país em 1986, sempre me despertou curiosidade lugares que tivessem algo de inédito, único e que me transportassem para dentro da história da humanidade. Foi assim que neste mesmo ano conheci a Terra Santa e de lá pra cá continuo nessa busca.

Em 1998, percorri 12 mil kms de carro de São Paulo à Terra do Fogo na Patagônia Argentina e ainda, em 2004, passei pela inacreditável India. Ver com os próprios olhos o quanto de humanidade temos em comum é fascinante.

Desde 2002, vínhamos estudando a possibilidade de percorrer a maior estrada de ferro do mundo, a Transiberiana. Neste mesmo ano, a lendária estrada de ferro completaria 100 anos de uma construção sem precedentes e que levou um século para ser concluída. Foi ela que transformou a Rússia numa das maiores potencias do mundo contemporâneo. Encontrar informações detalhadas sobre a Transiberiana não foi tarefa fácil, mesmo com acesso a internet, a barreira da língua é imensa e estabelecer contato do outro lado do planeta não é nada trivial. E por isso, somente sete anos depois, em maio deste ano, foi possível, junto com um amigo de trabalho, realizar a façanha.

Em 2008, antes do início da crise econômica mundial, por sorte, decidimos comprar as passagens de ida e volta. Com a decisão, foi possível planejar a rota transiberiana de trás para frente com dez meses de antecedência. Desta forma, partiríamos de São Paulo para Beijin rumo a São Petersburgo, no dia 12 de maio com volta prevista para 25 de junho de 2009. A estratégia para vencer a barreira da comunicação foi utilizar o Facebook como rede social para conhecer pessoas de todo o mundo que já fizeram este roteiro, além de facilitar nosso contato com moradores locais. E para nossa surpresa, deu certo.

Nosso roteiro de 47 dias atravessando a Asia, transformou a Transiberiana em nosso canal de comunicação com a Rússia, depois de passar 10 dias em Beijin e mais 10 atravessando o deserto de Gobi. Chegamos a Russia de trem pela Mongólia, mas esse trecho é outro capítulo desta história. Saindo de Ulan-Bator, capital Mongol, rumo a Ulan-Ude, na província Buriata, atravessamos a fronteira para o interior russo. Através do trecho da estrada de ferro TransMogliana nos conectamos a Transiberiana em direção ao Lago Baikal, o maior e mais profundo lago do mundo. Circundá-lo a bordo do Trem No 1 da Russia é uma experiência de 8 horas de viajem imperdível.

De Ulan-Ude, partimos para Irkutsk, a oeste do Baikal. Irkutsk é considerada a Paris dos russos, com suas belas casas de madeira, bares, restaurantes e vida noturna agitada com uma juventude efervescente. Nessa época do ano, as escolas estão realizando suas festas de formatura e a cidade se prepara para as festas de verão.

Após cinco dias em Irkutsk, conhecendo a região do Lago Baikal, seguimos viagem com destino a Novosibirsk, capital da SIbeira. Diferente do que pensamos a Siberia é nessa época do ano, um lugar verdejante, as pessoas estão nas ruas ou viajando para visitar parentes. Bebendo suas vodkas geladas, para alegria de todos.

Percorrer quatro mil km da Transibeirana é uma experiência única. Após algumas paradas o interior se revela, para sorte de nossas lentes. Viajar os 10 mil km da estrada de ferro de uma só vez pode tornar sua viagem monótona, principalmente se estiver viajando sozinho. Não foi o caso.. A decisão por parar em algumas cidades foi fundamental para curtir o que a Russia tem de melhor. As simpáticas russas e a hospitalidade dos russos, tudo oposto do que imaginávamos. Somos parecidos, no entanto no Brasil somos mais sorridentes. Uma explicação pode estar nosso verão que dura 360 dias a mais que o deles. Durante a viagem a mínima oscilou entre 7 e 10 C, na época mais quente do ano.

De Novosibirsk voamos para São Petersburgo, um vôo de 6 horas que por razão do fuso horário russo (são 8 fusos num só país), voamos apenas uma hora e meia no relógio. Ou seja, você pega um vôo na Sibéria às dez e chega em São Petersburgo para o almoço por volta de 12:30, tendo voado seis horas. Na Rússia, assim como no Brasil, a gastronomia é uma boa surpresa do roteiro. A base de peixe, carnes e muitos legumes, se deliciar com os pratos russos é uma viagem à parte. Quando estiver em São Peterbursburgo não deixe de conhecer a cantina Zasdarovia, e provar a melhor comida típica da região e dizer “spassiba”(obrigado) de barriga cheia.

São Petersburgo e Moscou são relíquias da humanidade graças ao espírito nacionalista dos russos que as preservaram intactas. Conhecer os palácios e museus é destino obrigatório e exigirá muito tempo de qualquer viajante. São Peteresburgo por exemplo, não é possível visitar todos seus museus em uma só semana de estadia. O Museu Hermitage, antigo palácio de Catarina, a Grande, e o tumulo de Lenin, na Praça Vermelha, são passaportes para entender a história russa e a força de seus líderes até hoje.

Moscou é rica e glamorosa. Nas ruas, inúmeras Masseratis, Bugatis e Ferraris, desfilam enquanto as belas russas, no alto de seus saltos tarantelam pelas calçadas. Essa imagem em nada se assemelha à visão que temos dos livros de Dostoiévsk, nem de documentários da revolução russa ou da recém desfeita União Soviética. A geração é outra e nas portas da Europa Unificada, a Rússia do século XXI já se arvora sob um novo signo, sem perder as raízes que a tornaram o maior país do mundo. A continental Russia possui 23 mi km2 de território, extensão equivalente a três Brasis.

Viajar pela Rússia exige deixar de lado a visão ocidentalizada e americana de que os russos são um povo rude e fechado. Nessa época do ano (Maio-Junho) é o período perfeito para conhecer a alegria russa durante os meses mais quentes do ano.. De um modo geral, assim como em qualquer parte do mundo, nós brasileiros somos sempre bem recebidos. O poder das novelas, o carnaval e o futebol nos unem numa mesma língua.

A Rússia não fica em outro mundo, está logo ali, mais acessível que no tempo de nossos avós e em nada, se assemelha a propaganda do “Scaburska!”, que alias em russo, não significa nada.
