Cidadã do mundo? Acho que sim. Ao menos do mundo brasileiro… Nasci em Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo, interior de São Paulo, estudei Odontologia na Universidade do Oeste Paulista, em Presidente Prudente – SP, mudei para a Vila Mariana, em São Paulo, e montei meu consultório na Rua Augusta, onde atuei por 11 anos. Transferi esse mesmo consultório para Itacaré – BA, onde cliniquei por 9 anos.
Depois disso, transferi minha vida para Gonçalves – MG, onde já moro há 11 anos, onde descobri outros talentos. Aliás, Gonçalves tem esse efeito sobre muitas pessoas. É um lugar tão bonito, tranquilo e sossegado que permite que a gente ouça nossa voz interna.
O tempo por aqui parece passar mais devagar e temos a chance de descobrir novas possibilidades para vivermos nossas vidas. Há 9 anos, inaugurei o Sabores da Mantiqueira (facebook.com/saboresdamantiqueira/), um pequenino bistrô bem aconchegante com um cardápio enxuto, porém variado, do qual fazem parte caldos, escondidinhos, sanduíches, além de boas cervejas para acompanhar. Sua localização fica no bairro de São Sebastião das Três Orelhas; isso mesmo, Três Orelhas. Curiosos em saber o porquê do nome? Gonçalves está localizada na Serra da Mantiqueira e é um lugar abençoado por uma natureza potente, numa altitude de aproximadamente 1300 metros. Os invernos são muito frios, mas com dias magníficos, de um azul intenso e com um sol forte para que possamos armazenar calor para as noites frias.
Há muitas cachoeiras cercadas por um verde intenso, pontos turísticos muito procurados para visitação. Além disso, caminhadas por trilhas, observação de pássaros e pedras com vistas incríveis ajudam a compor um cenário inesquecível.
A gastronomia por aqui é um ponto forte, com opções para todos os paladares. Restaurantes familiares nas roças, com a famosa Carne na Lata acompanhada por farta comida caipira, que mescla toques da culinária interiorana de São Paulo e de Minas Gerais. Outro ingrediente muito procurado por aqui é a truta, servida de inúmeras formas e sempre muito saborosa, porque é fresca e criada nas redondezas. O pinhão também é muito comum. As araucárias estão por toda parte — verdadeiros cartões-postais de Gonçalves que, generosamente, ainda nos presenteiam com seus frutos sempre muito saborosos.
Além do turismo, a agricultura orgânica tem se desenvolvido bastante nesta região. A associação de produtores locais mantém uma feira semanal super charmosa em sua sede. Nela, além de frutas, hortaliças, laticínios e geleias, sempre há participação de alguns artesãos locais expondo e comercializando seus trabalhos. É um belíssimo programa para as manhãs de sábado!
Outra coisa que tem se desenvolvido bastante nos últimos anos é a produção do shiitake. O clima favorece essa cultura e gera belos cogumelos. Eu também tenho uma estufa para produzi-los. Aliás, no Sabores da Mantiqueira, temos opções adicionais de boa comida produzida com nosso próprio shiitake e comercializamos outra parte em bandejas com produtos frescos.
