Já que são pouco apresentadas pelas revistas de turismo brasileiras, decidi falar sobre as belezas de El Salvador. É um pequeno país, com área territorial de 21.040 km² e o único da América Central banhado só pelo Oceano Pacífico. A população, mestiça de índios e espanhóis, soma mais de 6 milhões de habitantes, com uma densidade demográfica de 293 habitantes por quilômetro quadrado – a maior das américas.
Como a maioria dos países vizinhos, El Salvador teve uma história política muito complexa: depois de uma ditadura, de uma guerra civil, que durou 12 anos, finalmente entramos no período da democracia
A natureza de El Salvador é riquíssima: praias, montanhas, cachoeiras, lagos e vulcões ocupam esse pequeno país de origem pré-colombiana. Os sítios arqueológicos, de cultura maia, é um dos pontos turísticos mais visitados.
Por isso o milho é a base da comida típica mais famosa: as popusas — tortilhas de milho recheadas com feijão, queijo e carne é como o arroz e feijão do Brasil. Somos um país ‘cafeteiro’. A base da economia de El Salvador é a exportação de café, tecidos e o turismo.
A capital San Salvador é muito preservada. O aeroporto fica a 1 hora e meia, no distrito de La Paz. É uma cidade cosmopolita, cheia de comércio, mas não vemos muitos orientais e africanos.
Como San Salvador também é muito pequena, todos os passeios turísticos ficam próximos. No mesmo dia, é possível aproveitar a praia de manhã, como a La Costa Del Sol e a La Liberdád, e, à tarde, sentir o friozinho das montanhas do Norte. Também em apenas meia hora, dá para conhecer os vulcões são 262!!! Por isso, o país está sujeito a pequenos e grandes terremotos e fez com que a cidade desenvolvesse uma infraestrutura antissísmica.
Para quem pensa que El Salvador é um país pobre, engana-se! Suas cidades são bem-cuidadas, as escolas excelentes e toda a população — que fala inglês — é feliz e acolhedora. Em 3 anos, o prefeito de San Salvador — Nayib Bukele — iniciou uma transformação total na capital: organizou o comércio informal, revitalizou a cidade e seus patrimônios históricos e incentivou a cultura – criou inclusive a 1a Orquestra Sinfônica Juvenil de El Salvador e a 1a escola de ballet clássico.
O salvadorenho ama as pessoas e a família. Por isso, estão sempre aproveitando a cidade, seus restaurantes, shoppings, bares e eventos culturais. As músicas predominantes são os ritmos latinos: a salsa, o merengue e a Bachata.
Vale conhecer o ponto mais alto de El Salvador, “El Pital”, apenas a 1 hora e meia da capital. Nessa montanha há albergues, hostels e hotéis, além de um acampamento muito concorrido pelos mais jovens. A vista é maravilhosa e há várias trilhas para belíssimas cachoeiras e lagos, entre eles o lago Coatepeque, que muda de cor uma semana por ano devido às veias vulcânicas que misturam a água com alguns minerais. A cachoeira Los Tercios é a mais visitada e, embora a água seja fria, dá para dar um mergulho.
Os surfistas também fazem a festa no meu país. As praias de El Salvador são consideradas as segundas melhores do mundo para quem pratica o esporte. As praias de Ponta Roca, El Zunzal e El Tunco chegam a ter ondas de cerca de 4 metros.
Os idosos também têm seus passeios garantidos, como a rota pelos povoados coloniais com sua gastronomia típica. A Ruta Del Las Flores, também a 1 hora e meia da capital, é linda. Esse caminho liga vários povoados e suas culturas agrícolas de café, cacau, entre outas.
Para quem ainda não sabe, em 2001 El salvador instituiu o dólar como moeda oficial. E diferentemente do que muitos anunciaram na época, os preços não aumentaram e viver, comer e se divertir ficou muito mais acessível. A passagem de ônibus de San Salvador custa 6 centavos! Uma refeição num excelente restaurante custa 15 dólares e um bom hotel, 50 dólares a diária.
Comparado com a do Brasil, o custo de vida em meu país é muito mais barato! Há uma grande oferta de comida e não vemos moradores de rua. Todas as crianças de El Salvador estão na escola e os idosos, culturalmente, vivem com suas famílias…. Não há asilos no país.
Há 8 meses estou no Brasil, mais especificamente na Vila Mariana. Diante do cenário político que estamos vivendo aqui, gostaria de dizer, por experiência própria, que o povo de meu país, depois de muita luta e sofrimento, conseguiu se estabilizar e tornou a qualidade de vida dos salvadorenhos muito melhor!
