Irlanda: aí fui eu!
Cansada de estudar, trabalhar, do trânsito, da poluição e de muito mais, resolvi largar tudo e arriscar uma nova experiência, com a qual sempre sonhei, mas não tinha tido oportunidade antes. Há exatamente 4 anos, eu embarcava para uma das minhas maiores aventuras: a Irlanda!
Entreguei minha monografia da pós-graduação e decidi fazer um intercâmbio para aprender inglês. Iria com uma amiga, mas no fim acabei embarcando sozinha. Queria fugir da capital, então não fui para Dublin, mas sim para Bray, há 40 minutos, no Condado de Wicklow. Bray é uma cidade litorânea e a mais descolada do Condado, que abriga várias riquezas naturais e históricas: campos verdes e floridos, montanhas, lagos e mar! Suas paisagens já apareceram em filmes como Coração Valente e PS I love you.
É um lugar visitado por muitos jovens, que são recebidos por famílias que alugam suas casas. A vida noturna é agitada, são muitos pubs e o pessoal gosta muito de beber… E de ler! Há muitos Secund Hand, brechós que, além de roupas e antiguidades, vendem livros por 50 cents de Euro.
Cheguei matriculada no curso de inglês da ATC Scholl para ficar 1 ano: 6 meses de curso, 6 meses de férias. Mas prolonguei o curso por mais 2 meses e concluí 4 níveis, além das viagens. A cada dia conhecia mais a cultura irlandesa, suas riquezas e curiosidades. Em Bray conheci gente de toda a Europa, e fazíamos festas onde cada um levava um prato de seu país — claro, o meu foi brigadeiro e beijinho!
É fascinante um verão com um dia ama-nhecendo às 4:30 e anoitecendo por volta das 22:30, mas confesso que no inverno, quando só amanhece às 10 da manhã e às 16h já está tudo escuro, é bem triste e difícil de deixar a cama quentinha. O clima na cidade é frio e chuvoso, tanto que nesses 9 meses não entrei no mar.
Mas a terra dos Leprechauns e de São Patrício me conquistou, com sua população em grande maioria sempre muito gentil e disposta a ajudar.
Com a comida demorei para acostumar: come-se feijão e torrada no café da manhã! Depois, morando sozinha, melhorou. Mas morria de saudades do arroz e feijão do Brasil!
Conheci lugares fascinantes, como Galway, Kilkenny e a própria Dublin, sem contar que estar na Irlanda tornou muito fácil meu acesso a outros países. Visitei Inglaterra, França, Espanha, Escócia.… Outro lugar encantador onde pude ir foi a Irlanda do Norte, onde fiquei fascinada pelo Giant’s Causeway e Carrick Island. Acredite: somente conhecendo para en-tender a grandeza desses lugares… Onde você vai na Irlanda encontra castelos imponentes e ruínas preservadas, combinados à majestosa natureza.
Muitos me chamaram de louca; outros de corajosa, por deixar a casa dos pais para um mundo desconhecido. Não foi fácil no começo, pela dificuldade na comunicação, mas nada como mímicas, boa educação e simpatia pra conseguir tudo de que se precisa, desde o visto, compras no mercado e alugar um lugar pra ficar… Uma experiência que me deu uma bagagem cultural tremenda e me mostrou que a Europa é tão acessível e que o Brasil não é tão ruim assim; só falta uma boa gestão pública.
