Impressões sobre o Irâ – parte II
Uma parte do destino de minha viagem ao Irã, via Doha — Catar, em fevereiro deste ano, já foi contada na edição do mês de maio do Pedaço da Vila (veja em wwpedacodavila.com.br). Pode ter parecido estranho eu só falar de Catar, mas tinha muito o que contar sobre essa passagem.
Embora o Irã seja um dos países mais demonizados na imprensa internacional, desde que estourou a Revolução Islâmica em 1979, eu e meu marido ficamos entusiasmados com o convite de um casal de amigos para conhecer o país da antiga civilização persa, e que ainda preserva sua antiquíssima história. Aqui, vou apresentar, resumidamente, as cidades que conheci, pois não haveria espaço para contar quanta cultura absorvi dessa última viagem.
Shiraz é a ex-capital da Pérsia, cidade dos poetas e do vinho — uma das mais agradáveis do Irã. Pena que não pudemos experimentar nenhum vinho feito com a uva homônima, já que o consumo de álcool é proibido pelo Corão (embora exista um mercado negro do produto, até mesmo para abastecer as várias festinhas clandestinas que rolam pelo país afora). A cidade também é famosa por abrigar os mausoléus dos poetas Saadi e Hafez, idolatrados pelos iranianos, que recitam as suas poesias de cor.
Perto da cidade de Shiraz, ficam as ruínas das cidades antigas de Pasárgada e de Persópolis. Pasárgada foi construída por Ciro, o Grande, fundador do Primeiro Império Persa. Tempos depois da morte de Ciro, Dario, o Grande assumiu o trono e organizou o império em satrapias (províncias), a fim de governá-las mais facilmente. Construiu também Parsa (rebatizada pelos gregos como Persépolis), que, além de ter sido construída para impressionar os visitantes, tinha um propósito cerimonial e religioso de adoração a Ahura Mazda, o deus do Zoroastrismo.
Contudo, Alexandre, o Grande, queimou a cidade em 330 a.C. e, ironicamente, as cinzas acabaram ajudando a preservar as ruínas, incluindo a escadaria Apadana – que dava acesso ao Palácio – e mostra representantes de 23 satrapias que pertenciam ao império (etíopes, árabes, trácios, indianos, partos, capadocianos, elamitas, medos etc.) e os soldados persas. Os baixos-relevos são incríveis e foram fundamentais para que os historiadores tivessem uma ideia dos hábitos e das vestimentas desses povos.
Yazd fica na região central do Irã e, com mais de 7.000 anos, disputa com outras cidades do Oriente Médio o título de cidade continuamente habitada mais antiga do mundo.
Os seus pontos de maior interesse são, além da cidade antiga (um labirinto de ruelas, com casas construídas com adobe), as impressionantes Torres do Silêncio e o Templo do Fogo, ambos relacionados com o Zoroastrismo, a principal religião do local até a chegada do Islamismo. Atualmente, estima-se que o Zoroastrismo ainda possua 150 mil seguidores espalhados pelo mundo – incluindo a família de Freddie Mercury, ex-vocalista do Queen.
Os zoroastristas acreditam na pureza de todos os elementos e, por isso, não enterram os corpos dos mortos, nem os cremam, pois isso poluiria o ar e a terra. Para tanto, no passado construíram torres, as Torres do Silêncio e, em seu centro, depositavam os corpos, para que a carne fosse devorada pelos abutres.
Isfahan é conhecida como a “Pérola do Mundo”, não sem razão, e a Praça Imã é considerada uma das mais bonitas do mundo. A cidade, com a sua praça, as mesquitas, a orla do rio e suas pontes, os seus palácios, o seu povo etc., já vale por si só uma viagem ao Irã. Cortada pelo Rio Zayandeh, a cidade é famosa pelas suas lindas pontes e a orla, repleta de passeios e jardins.
Abyaneh é um daqueles vilarejos típicos de cenário de filme iraniano. Apesar da beleza do local, quase toda a sua população, em especial a população jovem, teve que abandoná-lo, em virtude da falta de postos de trabalho e de recursos para continuar vivendo lá.
Teerã é a capital imensa e poluída do Irã. Não é lá muito bonita, mas tem atrações suficientes para justificar uma visita, como o Museu de Arte Contemporânea. Trata-se de um bonito prédio modernista, construído pelo Xá Reza Pahlevi e que, apesar de possuir o mais valioso acervo de arte ocidental da Ásia (avaliado entre US$ 2 a 5 bilhões de dólares), com obras de Picasso, Matisse, Pollock, Van Gogh, Monet, Miró, Dali etc., exibe somente obras de artistas iranianos cujos temas mais corriqueiros são a paz, a guerra Irã-Iraque de 1980 a 1988 e os mártires, os heróis que morreram nessa guerra. Mesmo assim — ou justamente por isso — é muito interessante.
Eu e meu marido visitamos, em Teerã, os Palácios Branco e Verde dos Pahlevi, que fazem parte do Complexo Sa’d Abad, e o Museu dos Tapetes. Faltou tempo para conhecer o Museu Nacional de Arqueologia, o Museu do Vidro e da Cerâmica, a ex-Embaixada Americana, o Complexo Golestan, o Bazar, o Museu do Cinema etc. Mas um dia ainda pretendemos voltar para lá e, se Alá quiser, nesse dia não terei mais que usar o hijab (véu) para cobrir os meus cabelos!
