Madison Square Garden, dia 6 de outubro de 2008, 19:57 horas: ainda se viam várias cadeiras vazias, no concerto que deveria começar em 3 minutos.

Por algum motivo que desconheço – não sou um New Yorker – a casa aos poucos vai se enchendo até ficar completamente lotada, quase uma hora depois do horário marcado para o começo da apresentação. Apagam-se as luzes e surge Madonna, em um trono, cercada por muros de painéis eletrônicos de altíssima definição.

O tempo fez bem a cantora. Durante duas horas, pulou corda – mostrando a excelente forma física aos 50 anos – dançou, foi reverenciada por seus dançarinos e provocou a platéia quando indagou: “Vocês estão felizes? Claro, eu estou aqui!!!” – respondeu ela mesma, pouco modesta.

Com figurino quase todo o tempo em preto e cabelos indefectivelmente enrolados e pesados, até deselegantes em determinadas performances, Madonna passeia pelas canções do mais recente álbum e pelos antigos, fingindo se desconcertar quando, num momento interativo do show em que abre para a platéia pedir uma de suas canções, pedem “Lucky Star” – “Humm…será que vou lembrar? Me ajudem, por favor!!” Desdenhando do passado.

Perfeito tecnicamente, o show se desenrola em duas horas cravadas com muitas de suas canções ao estilo rock’n roll, inclusive Hung Up. Num arranjo pesado de guitarra tocada por ela, fica aquela pontinha de vontade de ouvir os samples de “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme” em ritmo dance. Assim também acontece em “Music”.

Foi delicioso ver em “She is not me” quatro manequins – descobre-se depois que são bailarinos – vestidos de Madonna em suas diferentes fases e ela, cantando, rasga os figurinos com a mensagem clara de que detesta ser imitada.

Em “Four minutes” canta e dança junto com um Justin Timbarlake virtual que aparece no painel digital dividido em várias partes que se move pelo palco, numa interação interessante.

Num raro momento de quase emoção, Madonna apresenta – no final da passarela envolta com seus bailarinos e dentro de um painel de alta definição em forma circular, onde aparecem imagens de pétalas de rosas, lágrimas e rostos de crianças famintas da África – a canção “You Must Love Me”, de “Evita”.

Sem saudosismos, fica de novo a sensação, dessa vez de uma Madonna mais emotiva, como quando em “The Confessions Tour” (turnê de 2006) presenteou a platéia com “Live to Tell” e “Paradise”, e porque não em “Girlie Show” de 1992 onde na escadaria do palco, cantou “In this Life” se despedindo de seu amigo Keith Haring que acabara de perder, subindo solenemente os degraus e desaparecendo ao fundo, logo após a interpretação da canção.

“Sticky and Sweet Tour”’ vale a pena ser vista, mas a impressão que ficou é que faltou pouco mais de inspiração a Madonna e até criatividade em determinados momentos, ou, ainda, a turnê não esteja acontecendo no seu melhor momento. Ela anunciou recentemente sua separação de Guy Ritchie.
