Para quem não associou o nome à pessoa, o entrevistado dessa edição é nada menos que o tetracampeão Muller. O ex-jogador, que iniciou a carreira em sua cidade natal, Campo Grande, atuou em diversos clubes do Brasil e do mundo, entre eles, o trio de ferro paulista – Palmeiras, São Paulo e Corinhians-, além de Santos, Portuguesa e São Caetano. Muller teve uma carreira vitoriosa, conquistou todos os títulos que um jogador almeja, alguns inesquecíveis, como o bicampeonato mundial no Japão pelo time do São Paulo em 92 e 93 e a Copa do Mundo de 94.O ex-morador da av. Conselheiro Rodrigues Alves e hoje residente da rua Rouxinol, em Moema, concedeu a seguinte entrevista ao Pedaço da Vila

Pedaço da Vila:Quando e onde você morou na Vila Mariana?    
Muller: Eu morei na Vila Mariana de 89 até 92. Ali, na av. Conselheiro Rodrigues Alves.

P.davila:Em qual clube você atuava durante este período?
Muller: Na época, de 82 a 91, jogava na Itália e a partir de 92, no São Paulo.

P.davila:Qual é o período que você considera o mais importante de sua carreira?
Muller:Eu acho que no São Paulo mesmo. Até pelos títulos que eu conquistei lá.

P.davila: Qual a sensação de ganhar o tetracampeonato mundial?Muller: É uma sensação plena, porém inexplicável. Até porque o degrau mais alto que você pode alcançar na sua carreira futebolística é a seleção brasileira. Conquistar um título mundial então…

P.davila: Fale um pouco sobre os bastidores de uma Copa do Mundo…
Muller: A pressão sempre é grande, a responsabilidade imensa! A expectativa ao participar de uma Copa do Mundo é enorme, para estrear bem e permanecer vivo na competição, vencendo as partidas até chegar ao título, que é a grande consagração. Acho que a expectativa é sempre a das melhores, principalmente para quem vai jogar.

P.davila: É muito importante a união entre os jogadores para se conquistar um título? Até quanto o técnico influência esta relação?
Muller: Olha, a união sempre tem que prevalecer até porque o futebol é coletivo. O treinador influência, não vou especificar uma porcentagem, mas ele é o comandante e tem autoridade sobre o grupo e nunca pode perdê-la. Os jogadores sempre respeitam essa hierarquia entre jogador e treinador

P.davila: O Brasil é visto como o favorito nesta copa. Isto é um fator positivo ou negativo?
Muller: Para mim nem positivo nem muito menos negativo. É um fator que vem de fora para dentro, como o Parreira já falou: “o jogadore brasileiro tem de se acostumar a ser tratado como favorito, mas não pode ter excesso de confiança”. Os jogadores são experientes e consagrados e estão absorvendo o favoritismo com naturalidadeP.davila: Qual é a diferença entre o grupo que você jogou em 94 e o atual?

Muller: As diferenças são muitas, os jogadores são outros, com exceção do Ronaldo que estava em 94, mas não jogou. Fica difícil dizer, pois cada Copa tem o seu momento.P.davila: Jogadores cada vez mais novos são levados para o exterior. Você que já passou por times da Itália e do Japão, considera a adaptação lá fora difícil?

Muller: Não é difícil. É claro que não é seu país, mas como o mundo hoje é globalizado e informatizado, a adaptação é muito boa. Ou até mais fácil porque, atualmente, o jogador já chega na condição de ídolo da torcida e do time . Claro que jogando na Espanha ou na Itália, a adaptação é sempre muito melhor e muito mais rápida.

P.davila: Isso pode influenciar o desempenho dentro de campo?

Muller: Pode influenciar de forma positiva ou negativa, vai depender da reação de cada jogador.

P.davila: Quando tornou-se evangélico e por que resolveu ser pastor?
Muller: Eu cresci dentro da Igreja Evangélica desde os oito anos de idade. Ser pastor não é uma profissão, é uma vocação de Deus para o homem.

P.davila: Que conselho daria aos craques para que eles não se deslumbrem com a fama?
Muller: Eu acho que o jogador atual quando se consagra, na sua maioria, já tem uma consciência muito melhor, uma preparação muito adequada. Tem a figura do empresário que está sempre assessorando e sempre preparando o jogador para o sucesso. O deslumbramento para algumas pessoas é encarado de maneira natural, para outros, é uma coisa bem visível, que ela gosta de fazer e acontecer. No mundo atual os grandes nomes de sucesso mundial não têm deslumbramento, e sim a satisfação de poder dar um tributo para o futebol mundial.

P.davila: Como é participar de uma Copa do Mundo agora do outro lado, como comentarista da Band?
Muller: É uma experiência nova, minha primeira vez… Com certeza será bem menos desgastante, menos estressante. Eu vou ter mais tempo para passear com a minha noiva. Acho que tudo isso é gratificante. São momentos diferentes e eu vou ter mais tempo para sair, me distrair, poder me divertir e conhecer o país. Como jogador, você vai para o país e muitas vezes não pode sair. Você só conhece o hotel, o campo e o aeroporto.

P.davila: E aí, a gente conquista o hexa?
Muller: Tem tudo para conquistar. É só jogar como Brasil!
